Welcome to the Animal theme!

In this module we will investigate the animals for whom the ancient woodland of Mourne Park is home.

They live in the centre of the Mourne Mountains, in Northern Ireland.

Many animals live here, including a large number of mammals, birds and fish. We are going to focus on three in particular:

Pine Marten

Bee

Red Squirrel

Our Space To Learn camera network records these animals in the wild as they travel past, triggering the AI cameras and sensors. Pupils from certain Northern Ireland schools visit the woodland to explore their habitat, and to find signs of life.

Games inspired by the Animals of Mourne Park

The camera and sensing equipment is always running, night and day. Experiments that are created by children in Northern Ireland and in England connect into that network so that together we can uncover and explore this special environment.

We share footage and data with wildlife agencies who work together finding ways to help and support them

We can all learn from pupil experimentation data – it is a team effort!
